A-C Electric Company is growing rapidly and has an immediate need for a full-time Trimble Surveyor/Operator.
This position is responsible for but not limited to gathering field data and drafting of topographic surveys and subdivision plats. Knowledge and use of proper procedures to provide accurate jobsite lay-out in a timely fashion is of upmost importance. Office responsibilities include preparation of cut-sheets, and transfer of data between field and office. Qualified candidates must be detail oriented and be familiar with the proper use of GPS and robotic survey equipment used to accurately do construction stake out.
Key Responsibilities:
• This person is responsible for the survey calculations along with production of maps and drawings.
• The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity) of work, meeting schedules, within budgets, and responsive service to client.
• This person will coordinate the production of maps and drawings to cover all details so that the quality is present and budgets and schedules are met.
• This person will be responsible for downloading/uploading field data, technical production of maps and drawings using various software platforms, communicating with project team.
Requirements:
• Electrician/Foreman Background preferred.
• Must be willing to travel and work in the field as needed
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Preferred 1-3 years of experience in AutoCAD/Microstation, Trimble S8 Robot and TX 8 Scanner : boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, utility route surveys, and construction staking.
Skills:
• Standards: NEC, NFPA, UL and ISA, as related to design and documentation
• Classifications: Area classification requirements as related to design and documentation
• Wiring: techniques, color-coding, sizing and de-rating, and insulation classifications
• Plans: Able to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, layout drawings and wiring diagrams and modify them for optimization
• Applications: Proficient in computer software including MS Office and Trimble GPS software.
