BIM/Revit Lead

A-C Electric Company is growing rapidly and has an immediate need for a BIM/Revit Lead in Bakersfield, CA.

The BIM/Revit Lead is responsible for the virtual construction (VC) system content creation, maintenance and training. The BIM/Revit Lead will produce 2D and 3D modeling of electrical drawings and components as required for projects. The BIM/Revit Lead will build, lead and grow the BIM/Revit team while successfully performing the duties and responsibilities of the position while demonstrating A-C Electric Company’s Vision, Mission and Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates detailed drawings in 2D and 3D as required for prefabrication orders as directed by Detail Advisor and installation instructions for project foreman.
  • Produces a prefabrication catalog of working drawings, wiring diagrams, and cross-sections, as required for fabrication and installation crew instructions.
  • Maintains CAD department system standards within the Virtual Construction group.
  • Performs verification and preparation of layout drawings to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborates with Detail Advisor and Construction Services Manager daily on prefabrication orders, VC schedules, etc.
  • Reads architectural and structural floor plans, section and elevations.
  • Manages the work flow of projects assigned and completes work within estimated hours.
  • Create and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external project teams.
  • Complete record drawings at the end of each project.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Vocational, Technical or Junior College (AA) Degree in drafting or an AutoCAD-related discipline, or a minimum of five years of related work experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in detailing or drafting, 5 years preferred.
  • Extensive use and knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM.
  • Preferred 3 years experience in electrical design and construction installation methods.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • AutoCAD 2D, 3D proficient
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Managerial Skills:
  • Has strong ability to be a team player and leader.
  • Self-starter and motivated to work efficiently and affectively.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
