Employee Development

Integration Plan: Each new staff hire begins with a thorough training program (titled Integration Plan) that emphasizes your first 90-days to learn processes and systems, and the balance of your first year learning about A-C Electric Company as a whole. Your Integration Plan is closely monitored by yourself, your supervisor, your mentor and the Director of Talent.

Mentor Program: On your first day you’ll be introduced to your Mentor, a current employee hand-picked for your development. Your mentor will impart wisdom and share their own knowledge with you.  As A-C Electric Company grows, we’ll face challenges in both acquiring and retaining talented staff.  The role of a Mentor aids in the development of those who are new to our team, or new to their promoted position.

Professional Development: Future development comes in the forms of formal training, job shadowing, book clubs and more. We utilize institutions such as FMI Corporation, American Management Association, Lynda.com, and McCormick Corporation for formal training.

Promoting From Within: Our goal is to develop the future leaders of the firm from within our team. Examples of employee growth include:

  • Energy Manager started as an electrician on our team.
  • Project Design Coordinator started as a CAD tech.
  • Systems Development Manager started as an administrative assistant.
  • Marketing Administrator started as an administrative assistant.
  • Program Lead (a leader of other managers) started as an electrician with us.
  • Division Manager started as an electrician with us.
