A-C Electric Company Welcomes 50 CTEC Students for Career Exploration Day
Published October 21, 2026
Bakersfield, CA – October 21, 2026 – Today, A-C Electric Company welcomed 50 students from the Kern High School District’s Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) to its 13-acre Bakersfield headquarters for a firsthand look at the electrical construction industry and the many career opportunities it offers.
Throughout the visit, students heard from A-C leaders representing both field operations and office departments, gaining insight into what it takes to operate a commercial electrical contracting company. While skilled craft professionals are essential to the industry, students also learned about the important roles played by project management, estimating, accounting, human resources, contracts, administration, and logistics.
Students also explored the behind-the-scenes coordination required to support more than 100 active jobsites across California, including the inventory, preparation, and delivery of equipment and materials from A-C’s headquarters to projects throughout the state.
“One of our goals is to help students see opportunities they may not have considered before,” said Danielle Ortiz, Early Career Program Manager at A-C Electric Company. “There are so many ways to build a rewarding career in construction, whether you’re working in the field, managing projects, or supporting the business behind the scenes. We want students to recognize that their interests and talents can have a place in this industry.”
A-C Electric Company is proud to partner with educational programs like CTEC to introduce the next generation to the opportunities available in construction and help students envision a future in the industry.
